BECOME A PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST


The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) provides peer support to patients with substance use disorders. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director/Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, the PSS will function as a role model to peers while exhibiting competency in personal recovery and the use of coping skills. The individual will serve as a patient advocate as they provide support for patients in an outpatient setting. The PSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
